Active in the journalism and media consulting spheres in Washington, D.C., for nearly two decades, David Bass has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Raptor Strategies, LLC, since 2009. Mr. Bass' firm focuses on providing tailored communications advisory services for a wide variety of public and private sector entities facing a landscape of complex and accelerated political change. In addition to possessing substantial experience in the Washington political sphere, the Raptor Strategies team offers hands-on expertise in high-level business leadership and management concerns. David Bass has created his consulting firm around a less-is-more philosophy, seeking to combine hyper-aggressive and hyper-creative approaches with consistency in execution and performance.

Raptor Strategies, specializes in media relations, issue advocacy, advertising and domestic and international government relations. Representative industries include aviation, energy, media, financial services, trade association, health care, foreign governments, transportation and veterans support groups.

David Bass earned his BA in Psychology and Political Science from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He subsequently undertook a legislative internship in the U.S. Senate. Mr. Bass worked in a variety of publishing and journalistic capacities with publications such as The Washington Times and National Journal. In 1997, he joined The Weekly Standard as Deputy Publisher, and in 2004 he accepted the position of Managing Director of Qorvis Communications. David Bass also took on major consulting projects with groups representing the insurance industry at the state and national levels. In 2008, he became Vice President and Chief Development Officer with Luntz, Maslansky Strategic Research, part of Omnicom Group Inc. Rounding out his role in global public policy, Mr. Bass sits on the Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He also held a seat on the Republican Central Committee for 10 years, and he served on international Presidential Delegations while George W. Bush was in office.

David Bass makes his home in the Washington, D.C., area, where he resides with his wife and two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys shooting sports, running, and cycling.
